Posted directly from the official, although Oracle supports VMware's virtual machine environment, Oracle gives the following instructions in the event of a problem with Oracle or VMware.
Based on this note, I think it is recommended that you do not deploy on VMware virtual machines as much as possible for Oracle databases used on production.

Support Status for VMware virtualized environments

Oracle have not certified all of its products on VMware virtualized
Environments. Oracle Support would assist customers running Oracle Products
On VMware in the following manner:oracle would only provide
Support for issues that either is known to occur on the native OS, or
Can is demonstrated not to is as a result of running on VMware.
If a problem is a known Oracle issue, Oracle support would recommend the
Appropriate solution on the native OS. If that solution does does work in
The VMware virtualized environment, the customer'll be referred to VMware
For support. When the customer can demonstrate that the Oracle solution
does not work while running on the native OS, Oracle would resume support,
Including logging a bug with the Oracle development for investigation if required.
If The problem is determined does not have a known Oracle issue, we'll refer
The customer to VMware for support. When the customer can demonstrate
That the issue occurs if running on the native OS, Oracle would resume

Note:oracle have not certified any of the its products on VMware. For Oracle RAC, Oracle would only
