Red Hat/CentOSext4 cannot format large partitions

The RedHat/CentOS 6.5 e2fsprogs version is earlier than 1.41.12, so you cannot create a file system larger than 16 TB.

Download the latest e2fsprogs, compile and install it

Tar zxvf e2fsprogs-1.42.10.tar.gz
Cd e2fsprogs-1.42.10
Mkdir build
Cd build/
../Configure
Make
Make install

Mke2fs-O 64bit, has_journal, extents, huge_file, flex_bg, uninit_bg, dir_nlink, extra_isize-I 4194304/dev/sda1

Mount/dev/sda1/mnt

Common Faults:

[Root @ localhost ~] # Mount/dev/sda1/mnt/
Mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on/dev/sda1,
Missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog-try
Dmesg | tail or so

[Root @ localhost ~] # Mkfs. ext4/dev/sda1
