When you just touch the Linux system VPS host, the operator will often give you a Linux system Remote Login admin username and password. And this password is the default cut has a certain regularity, so it is very unsafe. This time we need to modify the root password.

First log in as Root, execute: "PASSWD username (user name generally some root), such as the following example:

For users who have not contacted a VPS for remote operations, you have to be sure that you already know how to connect to the Linux system remotely, and if your computer is a windwos system, a good way to do that is to use the Putty tool. Then access to the VPS as shown in the following figure:
As shown in the figure above, you have logged in successfully, then enter passwd root after # and press ENTER.
As shown in the figure above, enter a new password or press ENTER, (note: no content is entered), and then the opportunity to continue to appear a row of Retype new UNIX password (re-enter the UNIX password), you re-enter the new password you just entered and then enter. So far your Linux or Unix system root user password has been modified. Press exit return to exit the remote link.
