1.1.1.2 check ideas

Because this problem occurs during the backup process and the reported space is insufficient, first check the backup space settings

SQL> show parameter db_recovery_file_dest

Db_recovery_file_dest_size large integer 4122 M

Then

1.1.1.3 cause of the problem

The main reason is that DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DETS_SIZE = 4122M, but this directory has already been 3550M and then backed up about 2 GB of files, so we need to modify this limit.

1.1.1.4 Solution

RMAN> configure retention policy torecovery window of 7 days;

 

New RMANconfiguration parameters:

Assumeretention policy to recovery window of 7 DAYS;

New RMANconfiguration parameters are successfully stored

 

RMAN> configure retention policy toredundancy 3;

 

Old RMANconfiguration parameters:

Assumeretention policy to recovery window of 7 DAYS;

New RMANconfiguration parameters:

Assumeretention policy to redundancy 3;

SQL> alter system setdb_recovery_file_dest_size = 7g scope = both;

 

Systemaltered.

RMAN> backuparchivelog all;

 

Starting backup at05-MAY-15.

Using targetdatabase control file instead of recovery catalog

1.1.1.5 knowledge point

1. Use the configure retentionpolicy to recovery window command.

 

Example: RMAN> configure retention policy to recovery window of 5 DAYS;

 

My current time is June 11. If I set the above backup retention policy and perform a backup, the backup will be marked as obsolete after June 16.

 

2. Use the configure retention policyredundancy command.

 

Example: RMAN> configure retention policyredundancy 3;

 

If the preceding settings are performed, after the three backups are completed, the first backup result will be marked as obsolete when the fourth backup is completed. The default backup retention policy of ORACLE11G is set using this method, and REDUNDANCY is 1. You can use the configure retention policy clear command to set the recovery POLICY to the default value. You can also use the configure retention policy to none command TO set the POLICY. In this case, report obsolete and delete obsolete will not regard any backup files as OBSOLETE.

3. The ORACLE backup directory is set by the db_recovery_file_dest parameter.

4. The ORACLE backup directory is set by the db_recovery_file_dest_size parameter.
