There are manyArticleThey all talk about how to set up a network radio station. However, there will always be a small problem when you follow the steps. Now we can summarize the entire process as follows, using the "Push transfer method"

First, install Windows Media Service and Windows encoder, which can be installed on the same machine or another machine. For installation instructions, see

To put it simply:

Windows Media Service is a distribution server that accepts users' On-Demand videos and distributes received video streams and audio streams to various users.

Windows encoder is an encoder that encodes audio streams and video streams and pushes them to the Windows Media Service server.

After installing Windows Media Service, open its control panel, as shown in, and select the "properties" tab:

Right-click "wms http Server Control Protocol" and click "properties". This protocol allows other machines to send audio and video sources to the Windows Media Service server over HTTP.

In the control protocol attribute of the wms http server, the default port is port 80, which can be changed to the appropriate port (7777) or the default port 80, you can also restrict the list of IP addresses that can be pushed to it and access by unauthorized users.

After the wms http Server Control Protocol attribute is configured, click OK to enable the Service, as shown in:

Even if the above Windows Media Service server is simply configured and complicated, you can try it. It is both Chinese and easy to describe.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next, set the Windows encoder end. This can be installed on another machine or on the machine where the Windows Media Service is located. Generally, the machine where the Windows encoder is located is uncertain and can be dynamically increased, you only need to push to the Windows Media Service server for distribution broadcast.

Open windows encoder and select "broadcast live events"

In the pop-up "session wizard", select the video devices and audio devices to be captured. In this example, the devices are tested on virtual machines, so the devices are default, after you install the relevant hardware, you can select the corresponding device here.

Click "Next", select "push to Windows Media Server", and then click "Next"

Enter the server name (that is, the domain name or IP address of the machine where the Windows Media Service is located) in the wizard, and append the port set for the start wms http server control protocol, at the same time, name the release point (only letters or numbers are allowed, and Chinese characters are not allowed)

Click "Next" and select Bit Rate

This interface is used to check whether the captured video stream or audio stream is saved. You can choose to save it here (or not, depending on your actual needs)

This interface is related to the property information of the file and can be written as needed.

On this page, Windows encoder has been configured. Click "finish"

In this case, the login box for the server where "Windows Media Service" is located is displayed. Enter the user name and password.

If the user name and password are correct, Windows encoder can start to convert the captured video stream and audio stream.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's look at the server where "Windows Media Service" is located. There is an additional mediatest in the release point, which is the one we set in Windows encoder.

View the attributes of the release point mediatest. We can see many types of content, such as restrictions. You can try it.

In this case, you can enter "MMS: // ip/mediatest" in IE to listen to the broadcast content pushed by the Windows encoder service. A Simple Network Station has been configured successfully.

What we need to study next is how to implement effective load balancing when a large number of users listen.
