Set vim as the default text editor-general Linux technology-Linux programming and kernel information. The following is a detailed description. The power of vim is truly amazing.
Then how can we set it as the default text editor? (Note! It is indeed vim, rather than its front-end gvim (I think gvim is too bloated ))
Let's take a look!
Still running on the terminal: sudo vim/usr/share/applications/vim. desktop
Input:
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding = UTF-8
Type = Application
Exec = vim % f
Icon =/usr/share/vim/vim48x48.png
Name = Vim
Terminal = true
NoDisplay = true
Use: wq to save and exit
Sudo vim/usr/share/applications/mimeinfo. cache
Find text/plain, and change = to vim. desktop.
Finally: wq
In this case, double-click to open the text file and find no? The powerful vim came into being!
(This method is feasible in the arch + xfce4 environment, and similar in other environments)
