Simple comparison between Tomcat, Weblogic, WebSphere, and JBoss servers,

 

1. tomcat is a Servlet container that supports key J2EE technologies such as JSP, Servlet, and JDBC. It is often used for tomcat to develop Web applications based on databases, Servlets, and JSP pages.
2. tomcat is not an EJB container. The other three types are: EJB is the core technology of distributed applications. Therefore, all applications that require EJB development (such as large-scale distributed application systems such as banks and telecommunications) tomcat cannot be used.
3. weblogic (Oracle), websphere (IBM), and JBoss (Redhat) are all EJB containers that comply with J2EE specifications and can be used to develop large-scale distributed applications, the difference is that Weblogic and Websphere are charged, while JBoss is open-source and free.
