The first part of the site to build the two main elements: domain name and server, this time to say is the domain name resolution, that is, the domain name and the server to bind the process.

When we access the network, the URL is sent to the DNS server, which is then returned by the DNS server to the IP address of the server we want to access. The previous article said, the same IP address of a server may have multiple sites, or subsites, at this time, the data we request is received by the server, the server needs to determine the URL of the domain name to determine which site to return the data. In other words, we will not only set the domain name on the DNS server to point to the server's IP, but also configure the binding domain name on the server.

DNS services are common are free to use, providing DNS services such as GoDaddy, domestic dnspod and so on. If you purchased a domain name from godaddy, you can use GoDaddy's DNS service directly, or you can set it up as a domestic dnspod.

is GoDaddy purchased the domain name after the login account display information, click the domain name product to the right of the launch to enter the Setup interface.

The most commonly used one of the settings interface is the nameservers in, the default is GoDaddy own DNS domain name server URL, in the picture I changed to Dnspod address.

If you use GoDaddy's domain name server, do not need to modify nameservers, directly click into the DNS Zone file to set. Different domain Name service providers are basically the same setup method. The following is an introduction to the Dnspod Setup method.

First register the account and login, enter the interface click Add domain name, follow the instructions to enter your registered domain name, such as hainter.com, do not need to add HTTP and www, and then click the domain name into the settings.

Select Add record, record type Select a record, host record written @, indicates http://hainter.com, record value is the IP address of the server you rented. The TTL is the time interval at which records are refreshed on the DNS server, and if you need to change the IP frequently, the recording time can be shorter, otherwise you should set a bit longer, which will speed up access to a certain extent. Again, add an A record, this time to change the @ to WWW, indicating the URL http://www.hainter.com. If you do not need other subdomains, mail and other services, so that DNS is set up.

After setting up the display roughly as follows, two of them are NS type records, for the domain name record.

After the setup is complete, you need to change the domain name's nameservers to the Dnspod server address in the domain name provider's settings, which is what I set up in the previous picture.

Remember to save when the settings are complete. If you are excited to visit your domain right away, you may find that you are prompted for domain errors, which is because these settings are not immediately refreshed and need to wait a few minutes for the global servers to be refreshed. Another thing is, your host is not bound to the domain name, is also inaccessible.

As for the host how to bind domain name, basically there is not too much to introduce. Purchase the host will give you a URL to log in, access to the control Panel, there will be domain binding related options. Bind the domain name to the normal access to your website. Of course, the site is still empty, it is possible to display a default interface, such as GoDaddy's server will display the Commingsoon page.

At first I only bought the domain name and no host, see the CNAME can set the domain name to another URL, and then try to set the homepage point to Baidu, has not been successful. Until later learned that the original host and domain names need to be mutually binding to access.

Our domain name is now accessible, but there is no content in the site. The next article will begin to explain the knowledge of building a website on a server.
