Software Vulnerabilities enable mobile phones and mobile networks to be controlled by attackers.
Security experts warned that a new software vulnerability allows attackers to control mobile phone and mobile network infrastructure. This heap overflow vulnerability exists in the code library widely used by communication products, including mobile phone tower radio, routers, switches, and cell phone baseband chips. Exploiting this vulnerability is difficult and requires a wealth of knowledge and resources. However, successful exploits allow attackers to execute malicious code on almost all of these devices. This code library is developed by Objective Systems to implement the telephone standard ASN.1. ASN.1 is the support of the mobile phone system today. Researchers warning that the vulnerability can be remotely triggered without any verification. Vulnerabilities not only affect consumers' mobile phones, but also endanger the network devices of mobile operators.
