Solution to SQL Server2000 suspension prompt:

1: Click Run in the Start Menu, enter regedit, and open the registry.

2: Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Session Manager

Click the FileRenameOperations key to delete the PendingFileRenameOperations key value displayed on the right interface.

3: reinstall SQL Server.

Principle:

PendingFileRenameOperations records the operations on the temporary files during the installation process. When SQL Server is installed, it finds that the key determines that the previous installation program is not completed and thus the installation is rejected.

In theory, this key value should be deleted after being restarted. However, for some reason, this operation may not be automatically performed and we need to manually delete it.
