SQL Server Installation Error

Error re-occurrence: firstly, the sqlserver software is uninstalled on the control panel, everything is normal, and then restart (you must restart it; otherwise, you cannot reinstall it). Execute the sqlserver installation program and everything seems to be normal, after the installation is complete, the system prompts "installation program configuration server failed ".

This error message can be found in the system directory. For example, if my system is win2000, the file is stored in C: \ WINNT \ sqlstp. log.

My machine is win2000, and I re-run win2000 installation under dos, and then choose to fix it, instead of completely installing
After the system file is repaired and SQL server is installed, the error message is not displayed.

When this error occurs:
Delete the junk files left by Microsoft SQL Server when the installation fails.
1) Click start --> Run --> enter regedit
2) Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ ms SQL Server
3) Right-click MSSQLServer or ms SQL Server and choose delete
4) Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ ms SQL Server
5) Right-click MSSQLServer or ms SQL Server and choose delete
6) Go to c: \ Program Files
7) Right-click Microsoft SQL Server and choose delete from the shortcut menu.
8) enter d: \ Program Files
9) Right-click Microsoft SQL Server and choose delete from the shortcut menu.

Note: Some common problems are also mentioned:

(1) When the MDAC component fails to be installed, try to repair or reinstall microsoft office.
(2) When you want to reinstall SQL server and the prompt "your computer has an instance installed" appears during installation, you can delete the program files \ Microsoft SQL Server folder, then install.

(3) When a dynamic link file cannot be found, try to find the file in the installation file of SQL server, copy the file to the system and system32 folders in the system directory. (when this error message is displayed, the system prompts which folders do not contain this file ).
