Introduction
Database technicians are inevitably faced with the following dilemma: the database system may fail to operate normally due to some strange problems, but due to the lack of information at the underlying level of the system, they often cannot cope with these problems.
The publication of this book will completely change this situation. Microsoft technical master Henderson invited a number of senior engineers from the Microsoft database product development and support team, director of each exhibition. For the first time, he made public many SQL Server technical secrets that had previously been passed on within Microsoft. The book consists of 10 chapters. Each chapter first thoroughly analyzes a key internal mechanism of SQL Server, and then explores common problems and solutions in depth, topics such as waiting and blocking, memory, cache, query and processing, service broker, tempdb, and cluster. The book discusses many underlying data structures and explains in detail the meaning of a large number of error logs and stack dump. A lot of content is extracted from the source code of SQL Server. The reference value is self-evident.
