In the previous article, an e-commerce website was created from the Web library. Now let's go back to WebMatrix and see what functions it has.
As shown in figure 1, WebMatrix has three main areas: the top Ribbon area, the left side is the functional area, and the right side is the information or editing area. The tool buttons in the Ribbon area change according to the functional area on the left.

Our focus is on the functional area on the left. Here we have four functions: website, file, database, and report.
Website
The website function provides two sub-functions: request and set. In the information area, you can see the website address, path, files, databases, reports, and other three shortcuts.
Click "request" to view the request page 2. Here, you can view the website request. On the rightmost side, you can see the request details. There are two buttons at the bottom: Edit and details. For a page file, click Edit to switch to the file editing status. Click details to link to the Microsoft support website. In the Ribbon area, there are three buttons, the first two are used to filter requests, and the first two are 3rd capture request buttons. Only when this button is in the selected status can the request be captured.

Click "set". The setting page is shown in figure 3. Here, you can modify the website address, enable SSL, select NET Frameworl, enable PHP, and set the default document.

File
Switch to the file function, and you can see the interface shown in 4. You can view folders and files in the project in the tree list. The area on the right is now the editing area. You can open the file and edit it.

Database
Switch to the database function. The page shown in Figure 5 is displayed. You can create databases, create tables for databases, and establish database connections. These functions will be used in future articles and will not be described in detail at the moment.

Report
Switch to the report function. The page shown in Figure 6 is displayed. Click Create report for website in the information area. The website report shown in 7 is displayed. Different icons are used in the report to indicate three types of information: warning, information, and error. Expand the information to see the pages that have these problems.

In the Ribbon area on the top, you can see that the report can be used for performance and SEO analysis, which is very useful to the website.
