Teach you how to resize a c drive (original)

Recently, I encountered a problem that the computer in the machine room had a hard drive C with a hard drive of only 20 GB. Now many programming tools are installed to occupy part of the C disk space, and 20 GB of space will soon be used up, however, other partitions do not have much space. I have installed a lot of software on my computer and a lot of data. I don't want to reload the system, format the hard disk, and partition again. I found a lot of articles on the Internet but did not have a good solution, but I still got a lot of inspiration and finally solved the problem. Now I will record the specific solution and describe it as follows.

First, the process requires two software first, acronis disk ctor Suite (http://down.vista123.com/AcronisDiskDirector10.rar), which is used to merge contiguous hard disk space. (Note, the discontinuous space cannot be merged.) For example, if 200 GB of disk D has been used for 50 GB, I want to extract GB of space from disk D and add it to disk C. However, the 20 GB space used exists at the front of the d disk space. However, the space allocated from the D disk's compressed volume (that is, the F disk) is part of the back of the d disk, which is not sequential with the c disk space, therefore, it cannot be merged with drive C. Therefore, I want to first split a GB F disk from disk D, then back up the data on disk D and save it to another partition (Disk e) on the computer ).

To back up hard disk data, we must first install a PE System in the USB flash drive (I installed the cabbage USB flash drive system Thunder: // handler = ). After the USB flash drive is started, open the diskgenius partition software, select disk D, click back up data island image file, and then select the path to disk F to start backup. This process may take a long time. After the backup is complete, check that the backup is successful, and then delete the partition D (don't worry, we have backed up the data into an image file ).

Start the system from the hard disk and open acronis disk ctor suite. At this time, you can click the resize button on the left of disk C to adjust the size of disk C to the maximum (100g + 20g = 120g) by clicking the arrow in the modify disk space number box ). Remember to click the commit button on the toolbar ). Follow the prompts to continue the operation. After restarting, you will find that the C disk has changed to 120 GB.

Next we will restore the original backup data to disk D. Start the USB flash disk again to enter the PE system, run the diskgenius software, right-click the f disk that was originally split, choose to restore data from the image file, find the image file we just copied, and start restoring, the process may be slow, which is basically the same as the backup time. After that, restart the Windows 7 system on the hard disk.

The following is the last step. The data obtained from drive D is now on drive F, which is not what we want. Right-click my computer, select Manage, and then select disk management. Right-click the f drive image, select "Change drive letter and path", click "modify", and assign drive letter D to the partition. All the way to "OK" is done.

Now let's summarize the entire process:

1. compress the volume (my computer-> disk management-> select the corresponding drive letter and right-click there is a compressed volume) to get a new partition.

2. log on to the PE system, back up disk D, and save the data island image file on disk F. Delete disk D partition (diskgenius)

3. log on to win7 and use acronis Disk Director Suite to re-allocate the size of drive C.

4. log on to the PE system and restore data from the original D disk to the f disk (diskgenius)

5. Change the drive letter and path of drive F to D, and delete the image file used for backup.

After completing these steps, you can achieve non-reinstallation and non-destructive resizing of the C disk. (This article is original. I found the method after repeated exploration. I hope it can help anyone who needs it. Thank you)
