The Linux operating system will control the automobile market in the future
Following the release of the intelligent car operating system by Apple and Google, Linux also recently launched the customizable on-board system platform Automotive Grade Linux, which aims to establish a standard for the future intelligent car system. Although Linux has been widely used in on-board systems for a long time, Linux is limited to embedded systems, and its overall system logic is always confusing to users.
However, the Automotive Grade Linux, as the vehicle control hub in the future, is completely different. This new design system will greatly improve the driver's control over the vehicle's multimedia and entertainment systems. In addition, Automotive Grade Linux can also be seamlessly connected with smart phones. Therefore, third-party applications such as phone calls, response text messages, streaming media playback, and Google map can be implemented in the on-board system.
At present, the first version of Automotive Grade Linux AGL has been available to download and support a number of car manufacturers, including Jaguar, Land Rover, Honda, and Nissan. manufacturers can also customize the system according to their own design needs.
