Turn: Oracle will acquire Sun Microsystems for $7.4 billion

Sina financial news Beijing time on Monday evening news, Oracle (orcl) announced that it will be at $9.50 per share, a total of $7.4 billion in cash price of Sun Micro System (Java ).

The transaction price is 6.69 higher than sunsun's closing price of $ 42% on Friday, that is, $2.81.

Oracle said the deal was worth $5.6 billion after Sun's cash and debt were deducted.

IBM previously made a price of $9.40 per share to acquire Sun, but earlier this month, after sun canceled IBM's exclusive rights of negotiation, the deal between the two sides broke down.

Oracle said it would increase its earnings per share by at least 15 cents in the first year after the transaction is completed.

This transaction has been approved by Sun's board of directors. Oracle expects the transaction to be completed this summer.
