When Canonical was founded seven years ago, Remnant left him and joined Canonical for work in the Debian project. He described in his blog that his interest in living in San Francisco and his expectation for returning to "pure development" made such a decision. Scott James Remnant, Ubuntu Development Manager of Canonical, has announced that he will leave the company to work for Google in San Francisco from London. When Canonical was founded seven years ago, Remnant left him and joined Canonical for work in the Debian project. He described in his blog that his interest in living in San Francisco and his expectation for returning to "pure development" made such a decision.
He also said that he will continue his development work on the popular Upstart start Manager developed in Canonical-a new version is currently being prepared. Upstart is also used in several Google projects, including Chrome OS.
