Issue

After the sogou Chinese Input Method is installed in ubuntu 17.10, the English language cannot be switched. Only one sogou Chinese input method can be used. Switching between Chinese and English is useless.

Solution

This error is generally caused by fcitx Input Method configuration problems. The solution is as follows:

First, make sure that the following software has been correctly installed:

-Fcitx

-Fcitx Configuration tool: fcitx-config-gtk, fcitx-table-all

-Im-switch Input Method switching Tool

Then, configure the Input Method

Local Search: fcitx-config, and then open.

Only one input method can be seen.

Under normal circumstances, there should be two input methods: Chinese and English. Therefore, if you only have Chinese characters, there is no way to switch between them. Click the '+' symbol in the lower left corner to add an English input method.

After adding the image, you can use shift to switch between Chinese and English input.
