After downloading the file, use ftp to upload it to a ubuntu folder, such as/home/ftp.
3. Procedure (for root users)
3.1 update the system
Apt-get update
Apt-get upgrade
3.2 Installation started
3.2.1 install libaio1
Apt-get install libaio1
3.2.2 switch to the oracle folder and run the following command
Dpkg-I oracle-xe-universal_10.2.0.1-1.0_i386.deb
3.2.3 after a period of time, the oracle installation is complete. Start configuring oracle. Run the following command:
/Etc/init. d/oracle-xe configure
3.2.4 The following content appears:
Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Configuration

This will configure on-boot properties of Oracle Database 10g Express Edition. the following questions will determine whether the database shocould be starting upon system boot, the ports it will use, and the passwords that will be used for database accounts. press [Enter] to accept the defaults. ctrl-C will abort.
Specify the HTTP port that will be used for Oracle Application Express [8080]: the default
Specify a port that will be used for the database listener [1521]: the default
Specify a password to be used for database accounts. note that the same password will be used for SYS and SYSTEM. oracle recommends the use of different passwords for each database account. this can be done after initial configuration:
Password can't be null. Enter password: Enter the Password
Confirm the password: enter the password
Do you want Oracle Database 10g Express Edition to be started on boot (y/n) [y]: y default
Starting Oracle Net Listener... Done
Processing Database... Done
Starting Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Instance... Done

To access the Database Home Page go to: 8080/apex
