Through the network subscription system, users of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 system have been notified that the system can be upgraded. New features include Virtualization Technology for Large systems (up to 64 CPUs and GB of memory) and virtualization technology based on the non-uniform memory access (NUMA) architecture.

In addition, drivers for Itanium, IBM Power, and System Z x86/64 systems are fully updated, with improved storage processing, network and graphics performance. After the upgrade, the operating system also supports Intel dynamic acceleration technology to improve overall performance. In addition, the Cell Blade system of IBM has also been certified.

In addition to hardware upgrades, applications including OpenOffice 2.3 and Firefox 3 are also upgraded, and the sleep and wake-up functions are enhanced.
