Use Navicat for Oracle to connect to oracle

Today, I happened to find an oracle client graphical management and development tool. When I saw this interface, I found this tool online, after reading Baidu encyclopedia, I was surprised to find that this product was fully supported by many databases, which attracted me, so I downloaded the software corresponding to the three common databases. This tool can be used on Oracle database servers of any version of 8i or above and supports most of the latest Oracle versions, including directories, tablespaces, synonyms, materialized views, triggers, sequences, and types. Double-click its installation file and the following interface appears. Here I select Custom installation and click "Next" to continue the installation ,:

3. On the displayed page, select the component to be installed and click "Install ,:

4. After several seconds, the software is successfully installed. Then, click the finish button to start the tool ,:

2. Configure Navicat for Oracle 1. Start the tool and the following start interface appears. Click "Connect" to connect to the database ,:

6. In the "New Connection" dialog box, enter any connection name, select the default connection type, and enter the address of the server where the oracle database is located. Here I select "localhost ", enter the oracle port number "1521", enter the database SID or the service name corresponding to the database, and enter the user name and password. Here I use "scott ", click the "connection test" button to perform the test and check whether the test is successful ,:

7. When I choose to start the test, the error "ORA-12737: Instant Client Light: unsupported server character set CHS16GBK" appears. This error is typical, this is because the server encoding is not supported, but if I change the server's character set encoding, this is unrealistic, so I found a solution online, finally, I learned that I only need to download the latest version of OCI files from the oracle official website and overwrite the original OCI files, but the files are a little large. This file is provided at the end of the blog. The following is the file replacement process. The downloaded file is a compressed file, and four of the files are extracted: oci. dll, orannzsbb11.dll, oraocci11.dll, oraociei11.dll (this file is the most important), replace the file as follows. Select the "options" command under the "Tools" menu to open the option interface:

The database I used is oracle10g. We downloaded the Instant client tool, which has versions 11 and 10, and 11 for oracle9i and later. Other version 10 is used.
