The full name of stars is space-time analysis of regional systems, which is a space-time analytical software for regional systems .
This is an analysis package for the region's multi-temporal data, and the source code is exposed.
The software brings the space-time analysis technology developed in recent years into a friendly user interface, designed to be an exploratory data analysis software.
It has to be said that exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA) has only just started at home, while stars are facing more sophisticated exploratory spatio-temporal data Analysis (ESTDA). Therefore, more understanding of such a software can be a new direction for domestic GIS research.
The software was developed for the Regional Analysis Laboratory (REGAL) of the Department of Geography, San Diego State University, where the leader is Serge Rey, who is closely related to the ESDA veteran figure Luc Anselin in research cooperation Thus stars in the development of adhering to the ESDA famous software Geoda many characteristics. In addition, the software development is supported by Csiss (www.csiss.org).
Regal's website is: http://regionalanalysislab.org/, which has the download of stars software, the latest version is 0.8.2, updated in April 2006.
