Use of an Oracle sequence in an INSERT INTO statement

Author: User

Many people create a sequence, but do not know how to use it in the INSERT statement, here is a brief introduction.

Oracle sequence has two parameters: Nextval and Currval, when used, you need to enter Sequence_name.nextval or Sequence_name.currval

The code is as follows:

Insert  into Values (Ptzhmm_id_seq.nextval,'707 broadband account ','FQB9707',' 12345678 ');

Above ptzhmm is Table_name,ptzhmm_id_seq is sequence_name, insert next sequence, use Sequence_name.nextval, and if insert current sequence, use Sequence_ Name.currval

But most of the time, the sequence is a column with unique values, so the more you use is the Sequence_name.nextval
