After App Studio, Microsoft made another effort to work as the Project Siena [Win8 application artifact] to benefit students who are new to development or interested in Windows Store applications, you can use a simple application to quickly configure and generate a Windows 8 application.
First, you need to install the Project Siena App in the Microsoft App store. Click here to install it.
Project Siena can also use some simple data sources such as Excel, RSS, and even Windows Azure and RESRful services. However, the difference between Project Siena and App studio is that the Application Generated by Project Siena is HTML + JavaScript [Win JS]
Here is a tutorial video showing how to use project Siena to create a Win8 App. Link
For example, binding a data source is very simple.
Select an Image Gallery control from the virtual control library.
1. You need to register as a Windows Store application developer and apply for a developer account. Link
2. Install Visual Studio Express or a later version. (Express is free) Link
3. Download the import tool (file to VS Project) Link
Prepare the above three steps, and then start the App Store.
1. Open your export folder and find the InstallApp.exe file and double-click it to run it. Install the application on your local computer. If the logon prompt appears, log on to your developer account.
: Edit the page before uploading an application. [It is very important to customize your own privacy terms. If you do not have them, the application will fail to be reviewed]
Steps for submitting an application:
Logon to windows dev center
Select dashboard-submit application-
Then follow the steps to enter your application information.
Of course, here our application still needs to be associated with the store account for signature.
Then upload our package
Currently, only 8.0 is supported. I tried to upgrade the project to 8.1 but encountered a problem. But it doesn't matter. Let's submit a version 8.0 first, because the application of version 8.0 can also run on version 8.1.
I will refer to the previous steps to submit the application process. Reference (how to submit your Windows 8.1 app update in the Windows App Store)
Then you need to set the application abstract content description.
(Including: Overview, application functions, screens, and descriptions of recommended hardware)
Content shared with windows8.0 (keywords, copyright and trademark information, other license terms, promotional images, website links, contact information of support personnel, and privacy policies)
Click Submit for authentication.
The rest is to wait patiently for the application authentication process :)
