1. log on to the Linux system terminal of the router using Telnet protocol in Windows

(Take the router of the DD-WRT firmware as an example .)

1. Telnet is a feature provided in Windows 7, but it is not enabled by default. Go to Start-control panel-Program-open or close windows;
2. Select "Telnet Server" and "Telnet client", Press "OK", and wait for a while to enable the Telnet function.
3. Go to the "command line prompt" interface in windows;
4. Enter "Telnet" and press enter to display the "Microsoft Telnet" prompt;
5. Enter "O" and press enter to display the "<to>" prompt;
6. Enter the IP address of the DD-WRT route, generally: "192.168.1.1", display "XXX login:" (XXX is the name of the router) Prompt;
7. Enter "root" (that is, the DD-WRT Default Administrator account, not your custom Administrator Account), display "Password:" prompt;
8. Enter the password you calculated to define the Administrator account (the input process screen does not show the Password character or mask), show the DD-WRT welcome character and "root @ xxx :~ # "(XXX is the vrotelnet name) Prompt, indicating that the Telnet logon is successful.

Ii. log on to the Linux system terminal of the router using the ssh protocol in Windows

(Take the router of the gargoyle router firmware as an example .)

1. Go to the gargoyle router management interface;
2. Open the system's Router Access page;
3. Check enable remote SSH access in the SSH access box;
4. Enter the port number in the local ssh port and remote SSH access boxes. The default value is 22;
5. download the zip version of putty. It is an open-source software based on the MIT protocol (similar to BSD and compatible with GPL) and can be used in x86 Windows systems. It is small in size and green without installation;
6.decompress the zip version of puttyand execute putty.exe. The putty configuration interface is displayed;
7. open the Session project in the Category directory tree and the Basic options for your PuTTY sessiond page appears;
8. Find the Host Name (or IP address) input box and enter the IP address of the vro. The default value of Gargoyle is "192.168.1.1 ";
9. Enter the Port input box and enter the Port of the SSH service in step 2. The default value is 22;
10. Press the Open key to bring up the PuTTY Security Alert Prompt window;
11. Press the "no" key as prompted. In the subsequent command line window, the message "login as:" is displayed :";
12. Enter the Administrator account name "root" (Gargoyle is "root" by default), Prompt "root@192.168.1.1's password :";
13. Enter the password of the Administrator account (the key character or mask is not displayed). The Gargoyle welcome page and "root @ XXX:" prompt appear, indicating that the ssh logon is successful;

3. Use HFS to create a local server with the router firmware file

To access the Linux system terminal in the router firmware through Telnet or ssh, you can easily call the wget tool to download the router firmware file on the local memory. You must first prepare the HFS software.
HFS is short for HTTP File Server (Hypertext Transfer Protocol File Server). It is a GPL-based software that can be used in x86 Windows systems. It is small in size and green without installation.
Download and save the router firmware file to the local storage, and then put it in HFS. The specific method is as follows:

1. Open HFS and go to the "IP address" sub-Menu of "Menu;
2. Check the Intranet IP address. Generally, the Intranet IP address is in the form of "192.168.X.X", that is, the IP address assigned to the current Nic by the route;
3. In the "Virtual File System" tree directory box, right-click the shortcut menu to bring up the shortcut menu;
4. select "add file" to open the Local Storage Router Firmware "rf. bin, see "rf. bin appears in the "Virtual File System" tree directory box, indicating that the File has been added;
5. you can click "rf. bin, right-click the shortcut menu, and select Browse. If the pop-up window of the Web browser shows the download of rf. bin file, indicating that the local firmware file server runs successfully.

4. Flushing the router firmware on the linux system terminal of the router firmware

1. Use Telnet or ssh to log on to the linux system terminal of the router firmware;
2. Enter "cd/tmp" and press enter to enter the "/tmp" directory of the vro system;
3. Use wget (a software based on the GPL protocol that can automatically download files from the network. It supports downloading through the HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP protocols .) Download the firmware file of the vro from the Internet to the current directory "/tmp". For example, enter "wget http: // 192.168.1.100/rf. bin, it means to use wget to put the/rf under the root directory of the HTTP server whose IP address is 192.168.1.100. binfile download to current directory, rf. bin must be a sysupgrade firmware file.
4. Enter the "mtd-e linux-r write rf. bin linux" command to fl the rf. binfile in the current directory as the router firmware.
5. Wait a moment. The Telnet interface displays "Lost host connection". Wait a moment. If the routing indicator is on again, it indicates that the connection is successful.
Note: After the Gargoyle firmware of the WHR-G300N is refreshed in wireless mode in my Buffalo WHR-G301N V2, Telnet stops after "[w]", "[e]" flashes for a while, no longer prompts. In this case, we find that the Router lights are off except the Power lights and the Router lights are flashing. After a while, the Router will flash into a long light. At this time, you can use the network cable to link the route, open your browser and enter "192.168.1.1" and password "password" to log on to Gargoyle.
