In a cluster test recently, we found that deploying the same application to Tomcat 5.5 is much better than weblogic9.2.
Test environment:
Red Hat LinuxEnterprise 5.4 x86_64
Tomcat 5.5.27
WebLogic 9.2.0
CPU quad-core Intel Xeon, 2500 MHz * 1
Memory: 2 GB
First, through the LoadRunner test, when 200 users, Tomcat response time is 5.5 seconds, while WebLogic takes more than 20 seconds. Change the weblogic9 thread management to the weblogic8 style and initialize the 400 thread. The test result is 8-9 seconds.
Maximum concurrency test. Tomcat can complete 700 concurrent users, and an error is reported for weblogic300 users.
According to the query information, WebLogic has an I/O bottleneck in a 64-bit system. You need to upgrade the 64-bit package to solve this problem.
However, if there is no 64-bit WebLogic installation package, the operating system is changed to 32-bit. Under the same conditions, the test shows that the response speed can be 1-2 seconds for 200 users, and the maximum concurrency can reach more than 700 users. Tomcat is still not fast in response time.
Register a my Oracle Support and finally find the Weblogic installation package on the Linux x86_64 platform. Test it on this platform later to see how much performance can be improved.
