If you use Ubuntu 9.04, Prism (an application that converts WebQQ to a local cost) is available in the source. For the best chat experience, we recommend that you install the latest version. To facilitate installation, add the third-party source of the PPA for Ubuntu Mozilla Daily Build Team, edit the/etc/apt/sources. list file, and add the following two lines:
# PPA for Ubuntu Mozilla Daily Build Team
Deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mozilla-daily/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
The deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mozilla-daily/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
Save and run the following commands in sequence to install the SDK:
Sudo apt-key adv-keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com-recv-keys 247510BE
Sudo apt-get update & sudo apt-get upgrade
Sudo apt-get install prism-google-docs
Well, the Prism installation is complete. Find it in the application/Internet/Prism menu and add WebQQ as shown in the following figure.
Okay. After adding the program, the WebQQ online program running based on Prism will automatically open. How about, is the function more powerful than QQ for Linux? It will never be suspended or stop responding, and it will not occupy too much memory. Supports remarks and Groups of Friends, saving chat records, and uploading files online!
If you like, you can create a shortcut in the Application menu. Prism can perfectly convert various online applications, such as Google Docs and Sina Web UC, into independent desktop applications without opening a browser.
