Windows 7/8/10 Home Premium version above

Home WiFi LAN (no internet connection required)

Support for DLNA-enabled phones (enable DLNA features or use the appropriate software)

  Method/Step

Open the Windows 7/8 Control Panel → network and internet → network and sharing center → change advanced sharing settings.

In the Advanced Sharing Settings window, locate the media Flow options area and click the Select Media Stream link.

If you have not turned on the media streaming feature before, a prompt will appear in the window prompting you to turn on the media streaming feature. If you have previously turned on the media streaming feature, go directly to step 5th. At this point, click the "Enable Media streaming" button.

If the service is not running, the next window will prompt you to turn on Windows-related services. Click the Windows Services Administration Tools link to open the Service Settings window.

In the Service Settings window, locate the SSDP Discovery, UPnP Device Host, and Windows Media Player Network Sharing service services, set their startup type to Automatic, and click The Start button.

After the setup is complete, go back to the "Advanced sharing settings" shown in the second step, continue to the "Media flow" option area and click on the "Select Media Stream" link.

At this point, you'll see that Windows has successfully turned on the media streaming feature, allowing you to set the name of the Media Library on your computer (the name will be displayed on another computer, phone, or TV).

At the same time, Windows detects devices on the local area network that support the streaming of media, allowing you to choose whether to allow them to browse your media library (by default, all devices are allowed to access).

Click the "Next" button when the settings are complete.

In the HomeGroup Settings window, you need to set the media categories that allow other devices to access: Pictures, music, videos, documents, printers, and devices, keep the default allow settings, and click the Next button.

To ensure the security of your files, Windows randomly generates a password to protect the device and the document, please record this password (access to media files is not affected by this).

Click the "Finish" button to complete the setup.

Windows Media Player provides access to other devices that are enabled for DLNA sharing, while providing a platform for the playback of other devices ' media resources on your computer.

Run Windows Media Player, click Media Streaming on the menu, select the last two of the 3 options, allow remote control of my player, and allow devices to play my media automatically.

Note that the confirmation dialog box pops up during the selected procedure, so follow the prompts to confirm the action.

Once you've set up, you'll be able to play pictures, music, and video files on this computer from another computer, phone, or TV.

If you use HTC's windows Phone phone, you can use the SOFTWARE "multimedia connection" to access the files on the computer to play on your phone or to output playback on other DLNA-enabled devices (such as TVs), when your phone is a display or remote.

If you use an Android phone, different brands of Android phones have different software support. QQ Video supports using DLNA mode to play video on your phone on your computer screen or TV screen, you can try it.

If your home network has other computers or phones that support DLNA, you can see them and play them in the Windows Media player Sidebar "devices".

In the DLNA-enabled TV, you can also access the computer you just set up to the music pictures and videos in the player, you can get rid of the audio line, video cable and HDMI line, and audio and video and image transmission are wireless.

Note: Different brands of TVs set DLNA differently, this step picture comes from the network and is for informational purposes only.

  Precautions

DLNA is now widely supported by device manufacturers, and the IPhone, Android and Windows Phone hardware are already supported.

If your TV can be connected via a network cable or Wi-Fi internet connection, then generally support DLNA, please consult the TV manufacturer or detailed instructions for viewing the TV instruction.

The method of using TVs and mobile phones to play DLNA will be described in more detail in another experience.
