Sina Science and technology news Beijing time June 26 morning, Microsoft (Micro-blog) CEO Ballmer (Steve Ballmer) in the conference call hinted that "virus prevalence model" is the company's acquisition of Yammer main reason. It is hard to say exactly why Microsoft is spending 1.2 billion of dollars to buy Yammer, but the "virus popularization model" does occupy a significant position from Ballmer and other Microsoft executives. In this model, the individual or group will initially use a product spontaneously, ultimately forcing the enterprise IT department to spend money to buy high-end management tools. This is actually "it consumption" a specific embodiment of the individual users to promote the enterprise IT decision-making. Mr. Ballmer made clear that Microsoft would use this marketing technique to sell Microsoft's existing corporate products, including office and dynamics. In addition, the company plans to integrate Yammer into Microsoft products, thereby building closer links between Yammer customers and Microsoft products. "I think there are huge opportunities in both areas," Ballmer said in an analyst conference call. "The rumors about Microsoft's takeover of Yammer were heard as early as two weeks ago and sparked widespread concern in the industry," he said. "Most of our customers think SharePoint (and even Outlook) is obsolete," said Anup Kejriwal, Mangosprint CEO of Social Security Anup Kikiriva. So Microsoft's move is sensible and vital. As social software begins to change the way people work, Microsoft's deal will endorse this area and speed up popularity. Kurt DelBene, President of Microsoft Office Cotte Delbini, said in a blog post: "In time, I think there's a chance to integrate Yammer's independent services into our collaborative offerings in SharePoint, Office 365, Dynamics, and Skype." People will be able to use Yammer to manage and expand their professional relationships, share and work with Office documents, get content updates in time, and seamlessly switch between status updates and voice and video conversations. Microsoft and Yammer declined to disclose detailed product plans and said they were still planning. Ballmer praised Yammer co-founder David Sax David Sacks and Adam Pisony Adam Pisoni for their early recognition of the value of social networking in the corporate marketplace. "Proper integration is a big opportunity for both sides," he said. "said Ballmer. In addition, Ballmer said in a conference call, Microsoft sales team can help yammer more free users into paid users. Yammer will still remain in San Francisco after the deal is over.
