Ajax Basics Tutorial (4)-Implementing basic Ajax Technology 4.9 Summary

In this chapter we provide a number of examples of ways to improve the user experience using AJAX technologies. In many cases, Ajax technologies can be applied to existing applications, replacing full page refreshes with Ajax requests, seamlessly communicating with servers, and updating page content. Users may not notice that they are completing the application in a different way, but after a while they will realize that the application has become "better". Ajax technology can also be used when starting to design new Web applications. Now, the AJAX toolkit should have a place in your development toolbox that will help you build a better Web application and match the performance of a fat customer's application, which can be a delight to end users.

Now that you've learned about the details of Ajax technology, you know the specifics of the XMLHttpRequest object, and how to use JavaScript to work with the standard web-access DOM to dynamically update pages. We have shown a number of common examples in which Ajax techniques can be used instead of full page refreshes.
