On leave this morning, you can see this link on Slashdot:

Because it is in English, I will briefly describe it in Chinese, which does not represent my personal point of view. If you are interested, let's take a look at the original article. It's very interesting and you don't have to be too real. Let's take a look at it as a joke.

The author is a Linux madman, at least a master. All of his servers, desktops, and entertainment devices are running Linux. But he pointed out that Linux is not prepared for everyone, and he thinks there are five reasons.

1-Linux is too complicated. The argument is that although Linux has KDE and gnome, you still need to use command lines and modify some configuration files from time to time. In Windows, you also need to run command lines or modify the registry from time to time, the latter is like what they often tell you: it is easy to cause irreparable damage to your system.

2-Linux installation is troublesome. Argument is that many of today's Linux versions require you to insert CD-ROM or DVD-ROM, press enter, enter the user name and administrator password, really good trouble; and windows? You need to do the same, and then immediately download the latest patch. After all, according to Symantec's report, if Windows PC is not patched and connected to the Internet, it will not exceed several hours, vulnerabilities may be exploited. Linux without patching can run for months, but it is not funny.

3-Linux does not have enough applicationsProgram. The argument is that only secure applications such as Firefox and OpenOffice are attached to Linux, while Windows does, the most popular intenet explorer, Outlook Express, Windows/MSN Messenger and so on are provided to us. Although they all have such minor faults, and there are MS Office on Windows, right? It is a pity that it is not provided in windows and requires additional purchases.

4-Linux is not secure. The argument is that if Microsoft says so, it must be true. What then? If it is hard for you to read about another major Windows security issue within a week, who would you trust? Microsoft or your own eyes?

5-Linux is more expensive. The argument is that since you can download almost all popular Linux versions for free, the large Linux vendors such as red hat and Novell dare to sell paid services or products to you; windows is usually pre-installed "free" on the PC you purchased. Wait, isn't it free? Is it included in the PC Price? Which accounts for a large part? But no, it has been installed. You need it all, right? Yes, but you may still consider buying additional anti-virus software, Anti-Spyware software, full-featured firewalls, and so on. In addition, it will cost about $100. But what else do you need if you have a secure operating system like windows?
