Mac is a cell phone, too.
If the Mac and iphone are in the same WiFi network, users can send and receive text messages, MMS and imessage via Mac, and they can call.
Starting with OS X mountain lion, both iOS devices and Macs can send imessages to other iOS users, and FaceTime (2010) allows us to make video calls on these two platforms. On Yosemite, as long as the Mac and iphone are in the same WiFi network, the phone will go to the Mac.
With your scanners, fax machines, paper and pens, you can use the touchpad to leave your signature. Select Tools > Annotations > Signature > Administrative signatures. You can use the touchpad to get the signature, or use the Mac's isight camera to take a picture of the signature in an existing document. Later, when you click on the "Sign" button or select the signature in the Tools menu, you can paste the signature into the PDF.
Message tags and notes
If someone sends you a photo or a document, you want to take notes, with Yosemite, you don't need a separate photo editor, you can use the "Mail Tag" feature. If someone sends an attachment, click the drop-down arrow in the upper-right corner of the image and select Mark. You can then insert shapes such as squares, circles, and arrows, add signatures, or enter some text. You can then send the file back to the recipient without even leaving the mail application.
Handoff
When replacing a device, handoff allows you to connect to a previously interrupted work on another device.
With iOS 8 and Yosemite, you can easily stop what you're doing, such as browsing, writing text or Mail on safari, and then connecting to another Apple device where it was interrupted before. If you start browsing on the iphone safari, when you turn on the Mac, an extra safari icon appears on the edge of the dock with a small iphone logo in the corner. By clicking on it, you will be able to enter the page you are reading on your mobile device. In contrast, this can be achieved from Mac to iOS, and an icon will appear in the lower left corner of the iphone screen.
Spotlight Search
Whether you're looking for a document, a fact, or a place to eat, Spotlight is a powerful and useful tool to meet your needs.
In Yosemite, Spotlight is beyond the scope of the file system, using maps, Wikipedia, mail, and your web history to find answers. Enter a name for the restaurant, which will show information and ratings, maps and schedule events from Yelp. Enter a band name, you can choose to view their albums on itunes, view music files on the computer, view the Wikipedia page, and so on. This is usually faster and richer than opening a browser for Google search.
Today View with an extension
Slide the screen to the right, you can look at the day trip, plus the handy widget for the widget. As always, users have access to the notification center, but now, with customizable widgets, the notification center becomes more useful and powerful, ordering today's trips, weather, stocks, reminders, and third-party widgets.
Messages
The messages features in Yosemite make it as good as iOS 8: You can temporarily mute the conversation or quit the conversation altogether. If you want to share something on your desktop or solve a related technical problem, messages lets you share the screen with the person you're chatting with.
Dark Mode
Go to System setup > choose Dark Mode in general. Dark mode turns the menu at the top and bottom of the screen from translucent gray to translucent black. It looks pleasing to the eye and, depending on your desktop background color, it fits your system more than the default value.
Preferences
Yosemite offers a variety of options including text size, screen contrast, and other views. Yosemite offers a number of settings that you can adjust, whether it's on-screen display or visual or auditory adjustments, and the ability to adjust the transparency of the menu bar, the contrast of the display, the size of the text, and the size of the cursor.
Recording the screen of an Apple device
Yosemite can record the screen of the iOS device as a video file. Plug the iOS device onto the Mac via the Lightning Interface, open QuickTime, and then open the file > video recording. This feature can be used to capture some game actions, to share with friends or family how to adjust settings on the device, or to record machine failures.
QuickType Automatic Prediction
By learning your typing habits, the quicktype of IOS 8 can accurately predict the next word and phrase. Although the function is questioned, QuickType still has some effect. In the typing process by pressing the exit key and the SPACEBAR, you can get some interesting automatically completed sentences.
