According to a survey of 182 IT security and operation professionals, one of the biggest security management challenges they face is the chaotic network.
77% of respondents said that system changes, especially unexpected firewall changes, caused internal IT chaos, because the system was subject to irregular changes outside the process. These changes may cause network interruptions, it either causes data leakage or audit failure. In this case, system interruptions often occur about twice as frequently as Data leaks or audit failures.
According to a report published in a survey sponsored by Algosec last month, all respondents know are identified issues. "The lack of predictability in time-consuming manual processes is the biggest challenge for managing network security devices ."
According to the survey, more than 40% of respondents said they have implemented the next generation firewall (NGFW ). 84% respondents who have installed the next generation firewall believe that the next generation firewall is "more secure", "better control", and "more predictable ".
However, 16% of respondents who use the next-generation firewall replied that the next-generation Firewall makes people feel less secure. Some people listed "increasing policy management" as an obstacle, and others said it would "increase the rate of changes beyond policy ." The survey report also pointed out that the next generation Firewall adds an hourly workload to the firewall management program of a full-time employee on average every day.
When these respondents asked why the next-generation firewall will increase their workload, about 40% of respondents replied that the next-generation firewall policy, namely, traditional firewall policy.
