This piece describes how to create a Dynamic Web project with Eclipse and start the service with a tomcat deployment.
Premise:
1. Download the latest version of Eclipse, now the most dynamic version is Luna
2. Download the latest version of Tomcat, the version used in this article is tomcat6.0.36
3. Download the Tomcat plugin for Eclipse
3.1. Download Com.sysdeo.eclipse.tomcat_3.3.1.jar
3.2. Copy the Com.sysdeo.eclipse.tomcat_3.3.1.jar to the Eclipse directory under plugins\
3.3. Restart Eclipse
3.4. After rebooting, if you see the three kitten icons above the Eclipse toolbar, the installation is successful.
4. Create a Dynamic Web project
5. Modify the default output folder path
6. Modify the folder name of the content directory and tick the check box for the Generate Web. xml file
7. Select Preferences in Window of Eclipse's menu
8. Select the Tomcat option on the left, select the version of Tomcat that you downloaded, and select the Tomcat path "D:\Program files\apache-tomcat-6.0.36\". The most important is to select Server.xml at the bottom.
9. Select the project you just created, right-click the property, and in the popup window, configure it. Click Apply before clicking OK.
It is important to note that the path to the Web application root needs to be set Webroot
10. Click the project right-clicking Tomcat Project to select Update context definition
11. Click on the kitten icon above Eclipse to start the service.
