Create a webpage in a Linux Desktop Environment

Create a web pageIs an important part of Web applications. Here we will introduce three LinuxScreem, Bluefish, and Quanta Plus tools for creating web pages in a desktop environment.

FrontPage-Screem

FrontPage-Screem is the next integrated HTML/webpage development tool in Linux. Screem was initially designed based on the GNOME style, but it can run well in the KDE environment, which makes it very convenient to develop Web pages in the Linux operating system. Screem also supports Chinese processing. The interface is similar to the FrontPage in Windows.

In addition to displaying different HTML identifiers, Screem also allows you to easily create Table tables and define styles. It also supports Plug-in to provide interfaces for future expansion. Screem also comes with a variety of images, icons, and photos. The software can be used at a time to test multiple web pages. Internal browsers can be used to test web pages, image preview tools, image creation wizard, sound Presentation Library, online guidance, and step-by-step website design guidance, and reference for the latest HTML 4.0 tags.

Dreamweave-Bluefish

Dreamweaver-Bluefish is a Gtk-based HTML editor that supports highlighted syntax and HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, and Java server pages (JSP) python, Perl, SSI, PHP, XML, and other languages. In some ways, it is similar to Dreamweaver in Windows, and is a rare tool for making HTML.

Bluefish is a good tool for "writing" HTML, but it does not have the WYSIWYG function itself. It may be difficult for beginners because you need to add some basic HTML knowledge. For creators familiar with HTML code, the use of Bluefish can make you feel at ease. Bluefish has shortcuts for some common tags. Using shortcuts can greatly increase the speed of code writing. Bluefish has many wizard dialogs. Users only need to fill in the corresponding attribute values to generate the corresponding HTML code. In addition, you can view the page effects in browsers such as Netscape through the preview function. In a sense, this can be another "WYSIWYG.

Because you can control all the code using Bluefish without generating useless redundant code, the HTML page is more concise. Currently, the latest Bluefish version is 0.12 and has the following new features:

1. The new powerful custom menu extends the code writing of HTML, PHP, Prel, Pascal, Python, and SSI.

2. More enhanced wizard dialogs.

3. Automatically scale in and out to make the code more beautiful and refined.

4. Automatic spelling check.

5. Multi-byte support, better support for Chinese UTF8, etc.

6. XHTML supports system requirements Gtk-1.2 -*. To use the image dialog box, you must support the Imlib library. In addition, Weblint is used for HTML code check, and Netscape is used for HTML preview.

Quanta Plus

Quanta Plus is a very powerful HTML editor in Linux desktop environment, between WYSIWYG style and HTML source code. Quanta Plus needs to input HMTL code, but it also provides real-time preview. This editing method helps users grasp HTML code to the maximum extent while providing friendly interfaces. Quanta Plus supports the Prel and PHP scripting languages, and supports the Document Type Definition (DTD) File Format editing dialog box, as shown in figure 3.

Quanta Plus supports Cascading Style Sheet and CSS. More people call it a Style sheet. The working interface of Quanta Plus is shown in Figure 4.

The Web editing tools in Linux described above are all based on GPL. In addition, there are some commercial software: Websphere homepage BuilderIBM's wysiwyg html production tool) and Amaya for LinuxW3C's WYSIWYG webpage editing/browser ).
