It's been a long time since I brought up this filter for Photoshop, and I remember that it was first heard at the Adobe MAX 2011 Developer Conference More than a year ago. For a variety of reasons, this feature did not appear in the same year's Photoshop CS6, but chose a year later released Photoshop CC (CREATIVE CLOUD). So what is the actual effect? Is it really as magical as Adobe introduced it? An article to take you personally experience.

In fact, hand-shaking fuzzy correction is not the first time in Photoshop, before the well-known intelligent sharpening has a "Remove lens blur" module. Of course, the author does not want to say more, after all, the effect of good industry has verdict. and smart Sharpening, Photoshop cc's hand-shaking function is also provided by the filter, and even the location is the same as it under the sharpening menu, such a design is believed to be thoughtful, after all, get the first thought of paste film is sharpening. Well, say the test film bar, this is the author casually found on the internet a few samples, the scene is very typical of the conference site, the film is also a typical night scene paste. The main reason is that the ambient light is too dim, resulting in the camera automatically shutter low (1/8 seconds), resulting in the whole piece of detail can not distinguish.
Fig. 2 The hand-shaking filter is also located within the sharpening group
Figure 3 This is the beta version, from the EXIF data can be seen clearly where the problem is (Photo source network)
OK, let's start our test trip. First turn on the stabilizer filter and check "preview" to see what the default value gives you. After a few seconds to preview the effect of pop-up, you may not see on the small map, but from the author's computer to see, the effect is indeed stunning, the original film many details were suddenly highlighted, not too clear before the poster people face, also began to become chiseled. Careful observation, you will find that there are many sharp traces in the preview, this is the most important reason for its perception, but the traditional sharpening of the problem of increasing noise is not prominent here, it is obviously a special optimization of PS. Next, let's take a look at the options on the right.

Fig. 5 Compare with the original piece (left image, right processing)
"Fuzzy copy boundary" can be regarded as the most basic sharpening of the whole processing, that is, it first hooks out the general contour, and then the other parameters assist the correction. The value range is 10~199, the larger the value, the more obvious the sharpening effect. When the value of this parameter is higher, the contrast of image edge will be obviously deepened, and a certain Halo shadow will be produced, which is obviously sharpening effect. Therefore, in addition to ensure that the picture is clear enough, but also to be as far as possible to take care not to produce a clear halo can.

"Source Noise" is a definition of the original piece quality, popular speaking is the original piece of noise is more or less, divided into four values, "Automatic", "Low", "medium", "High". Generally for ordinary users, here can be directly selected "Automatic", the actual test found that the effect is more ideal.
"Smoothing" and "pseudo-image suppression" are the sharpening and equalization of sharpness, in which "smoothing" is a modification of the noise caused by the copying boundary, a bit like the previous full image denoising. The value of the range between 0%~100%, the greater the value of the noise effect of the better (the feeling of grinding), but the details of the loss, need to be in the clarity and the degree of clutter balance. "Pseudo-image suppression" is specifically used to deal with the problem of excessive sharpening, the same is 0%~100% range of values, but also need to balance between clarity and picture.

Besides, let's talk about the "advanced" panel, which is hidden by default, in simple terms, the image-stabilization filter takes a small sample of each photograph (it's not stupid enough to test a 30 million-pixel blockbuster, which takes too much time), and this range is generally considered a generalization of the entire picture because of the camera jitter principle. But if you think your photos are special, or if you have any special attention, you can use this feature to manually specify the scope of the sample. By default, the new sampling range (which can be set multiple) can take effect with the old range, but can also be specified by a tick.
Figure 9 "Advanced" provides a multi-area sampling function
Incidentally, the above parameters do not have to be manually set. In fact, when you open a picture, Photoshop will first scan and automatically preset "Blur copy Boundaries" ("smoothing" and "artifact suppression" are not preset). This design is the favorite of most beginners, and the truth is that in most cases the measurement of PS is very accurate, all we have to do is to be patient with the preview to correct the other parameters.
In order to further illustrate the problem, the author then used the intelligent sharpening (remove lens blur) For comparison, the following picture is a comparison screenshot.

In addition, the author also tried several other films, how to say it? And the official release of the effect of the contrast, is indeed a bit worse, but some also can be counted. Of course not ruled out this is the author's own technical problems. But from these days of trial, this thing is obviously only as a repair after the failure of the film, if you want to make all the paste can be reborn, is still an extravagant hope, so ... Everybody's "Iron hand work" also must intensify the practice ha!
