Introduction: Eclipse Configures Tomcat process
Open Eclipse and click on the preferences configuration properties in Windows in the menu bar
Then select the runtime environments in the server and add the desired tomcat version as follows:
So that Tomcat is configured, but it may still be unable to start the Tomcat server, then sad to go with:
Also, select Windows, but at this point choose Show View--->other ...
Then select server:
Then in the Server, right-click in the blank, select New--->server
Next, add Tomcat:
At this point, the problem appears again, cannot select server name, cannot next, and error: Cannot create a server using the selected type
This is the problem I encountered, but also the focus of this article
Workaround:
1. Close Eclipse
2. Open the location of the workspace. {Workspace-directory}/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.runtime/.settings Delete the following files
Org.eclipse.wst.server.core.prefs Org.eclipse.jst.server.tomcat.core.prefs
3. Restart Eclipse
