1. General Plug-in Installation
In fact, the simplest way to install the Eclipse plug-in is to unzip the plug-in package and then copy the features and plugins to the features and plugins directories in the corresponding Eclipse directory. But do not advocate this, it is very messy, not easy to manage, so it is best to separate in a directory, with a file indicating the location of the plug-in. Specific practices:
For example, I now install the Lomboz plugin:
① unzip the plug-in package and place it under the Eclipse directory, noting that this directory should be on the same level as Eclipse.exe. That
D:\Dvp\eclipse3.1.2\eclipse\eclipse.exe
D:\Dvp\eclipse3.1.2\eclipse\features
D:\Dvp\eclipse3.1.2\eclipse\plugins
D:\Dvp\eclipse3.1.2\eclipse\configuration
(D:\Dvp\eclipse3.1.2\eclipse is my Eclipse extract directory)
To the same level as these directories (files):
D:\Dvp\eclipse3.1.2\eclipse\lomboz (assuming uncompressed file name is Lomboz)
② creates a new directory named Links:
D:\Dvp\eclipse3.1.2\eclipse\links
③ new File Lomboz.link in the links directory, write to content:
Path=d:\\dvp\\eclipse3.1.2\\eclipse\\lomboz (D:\Dvp\eclipse3.1.2\eclipse is my Eclipse extract directory)
④ be aware of the directory hierarchy in the Lomboz directory,
D:\Dvp\eclipse3.1.2\eclipse\lomboz\eclipse\features
D:\Dvp\eclipse3.1.2\eclipse\lomboz\eclipse\plugins
(D:\Dvp\eclipse3.1.2\eclipse is my Eclipse extract directory)
It is important to note that the Eclipse directory is first available under Lomboz because Lomboz has the Eclipse directory after decompression, so it is directly usable. But some plug-ins are extracted directly from the features and plugins directory, so you need to manually add the Eclipse directory.
