Enable telnet in SuSE Linux 10

1. the telnet service is not installed by default, so check whether telnet is installed:
SuSE-Linux: // # chkconfig-list | grep Telnet
If the following figure is displayed, it indicates that Telnet has been installed.
TELNET: On
Otherwise, it is not installed. Follow these steps to install the telnet service.

Note: If the following command is returned, it indicates that the system has installed Telnet that depends on the krb5 server logon.
Ktelnet: On
If you do not set the krb5 server, you will not be able to log on. The solution is to disable it using the following command:
SuSE-Linux: // # chkconfig ktelnet off
SuSE-Linux: // # chkconfig-list | grep Telnet
Ktelnet: Off
TELNET: On
2. Install the telnet service:
Enter "yast2 inetd ":
SuSE-Linux :~ # Yast2 inetd
