Android basics-download and associate Android source code in eclipse

On the fourth day of learning Android, the code is less than a day, and the main energy is spent reading the Official Development Guide. Each chapter in framework topics is the essence. The latest goal is to browse each chapter, after you have some development experience in the future, I will go back and savor O (character _ character) O.

However, another major event occurred over the past few days, that is, I joined the Chinese translation team for Android the day before yesterday. Being able to participate in some open-source projects has always been one of my wishes. This time I have finally put it into practice, and I feel very rewarding in the past two days. I have not only reviewed the usage of SVN, I also learned about the process of translation work (the first time I read the translation manual, I was shocked. I never thought it was so complicated and very professional before !). Of course, I also participated actively. I wrote half of "Android Application Development basics: Application Fundamentals Chinese Translation of Android Dev Guide" a few days ago, I have completed and submitted the verification for the translation group yesterday morning. After the verification modification is completed, it will be published by the android Chinese translation team. Therefore, I have not updated the blog. In the future, I will take time every week to complete the translation of at least one development guide. I will definitely stick to this matter!

(The idle part above has nothing to do with the topic. It can be passed directly =)

Everyone knows that writing a document is comfortable, but sometimes it is better to directly look at the source code. Since Android is open-source, why doesn't I directly look at its source code in eclipse?

1. Download source code

This part of the Internet contains a lot of information and I will not re-write it. This is my reference article: Download Android source code on Windows Platforms

Generally, follow the instructions in the above article. However, I encountered a small problem in the middle of the RP: After installing msysgit, right-click the folder and there is no git bash option. What should I do?

My solution: Find git bash in the Start menu and run it. Use the "CD target directory path" command to enter the directory where you want to store the source code. Of course, you can also use git GUI for visualized operations, but it is only the next Source Code. It is more convenient to use command, isn't it?

2. Associate source code in eclipse

Common eclipse users should be familiar with operations related to source code in eclipse.

1. Find Android. jar in the project, right click → Properties

2. Select external folder to associate it with an external Folder.

3. Select % to store the source code directory %/base/CORE/Java → OK. This completes the associated source code operation.

4. Press ctrl and click the class name or interface name to view the source code.

Success! You don't have to worry about anything you don't understand in the document later. You can check the source code directly! Haha!
