Android design size and Android design size
Terms and concepts
Screen Size
Refers to the actual physical size, which is measured on the diagonal line of the screen.
For simplicity, Android divides the actual screen size into four broad sizes: small, normal, large, and extremely large.
Pixel (PX)
A physical pixel represents a physical pixel on the screen.
Screen Density
To solve Android device fragmentation, a concept of DP, that is, density, is introduced. The number of pixels displayed on a physical screen of a certain size, usually the resolution. For simplicity, Android divides the screen density into four broad sizes: low (120 dpi), medium (160 dpi), high (240 dpi), and ultra (320 dpi) pixel = DP * (DPI/160). For example, in a DPI screen, 1DP equals 1.5PX.
In terms of design, select a proper size as the normal size and medium screen density (size selection is based on the hardware to be adapted, it is recommended to refer to the current mainstream hardware resolution ), then, the dimensions and density of small, large, extra large, and low, high, and super high are arranged downward and upward.
Typical design dimensions
• 320dp: A normal mobile phone screen (240X320,320X480,480X800)
• 480 DP: An intermediate tablet image (800 x)
• 600dp: 7-inch tablet (600x1024)
• 720dp: 10-inch tablet (720x1280,800x1280)

How big should I design the Icon of an Android application?
The application Icon (Icon) should be an Alpha Channel transparent 32-bit PNG image. Due to the large number of Android devices, an app icon needs to be designed with several different sizes, such:
LDPI (Low Density Screen, 120 DPI), the Icon size is 36x36 px.
MDPI (Medium Density Screen, 160 DPI), the Icon size is 48x48 px.
HDPI (High Density Screen, 240 DPI), its Icon size is 72x72 px.
Xhdpi (Extra-high density screen, 320 DPI), the Icon size is 96x96 px. During the design process, we recommend that you leave a few pixels around to make the design icon visually consistent with other icons. For example,
The 96x96 px icon can be set to 88x88 px in the drawing area, with four pixels left around for fill (no background color ).
The 72x72 px icon can set the drawing area size to 68x68 px, and leave 2 pixels around for fill (no background color ).
The 48x48 px icon can set the drawing area size to 46x46 px, and leave one pixel around for fill (no background color ).
The 36x36 px icon can be set to 34x34 px in the drawing area, with one pixel left around for fill (no background color ).
PS: the android UI is designed to adapt to various resolutions. Which is the design size of PS?
Android has many UI resolutions. Currently, hdpi 480x800 xhdpi 640x960 is commonly used.
To adapt to the screen size, you just need to do these two things.
