IPhone developers are plagued by App Store plagiarism

By increasing the App category ranking, Apple basically solved the problem of insufficient App Store App display seats that had plagued developers. It is rumored that Apple will set up a high-price software zone, which may further solve the problem of low App Store price levels. However, some iPhone app developers have encountered new troubles, and Apple is not easy to solve.

Some iPhone App developers do not think about original iPhone App originality sources, but directly copy existing apps in the App Store and directly use others' ideas, create a very similar application and Store it in the App Store for sale.

Because Apple's App Store approval process does not clearly distinguish and grasp the attacker's App, developers of original apps often find that shortly after their original apps are released, suddenly there will be many similar applications.

Some plagiarism is not limited to the concept or operation process. You can directly copy the UI of the original application, or even copy the product description, application icon, and name, or just make a few minor changes. The attacker can directly access the. ipa package of the original application and copy its art interface for use. For example, there is almost no difference between Touch Scan Pro on the right and TouchScan on the left, except that the color is changed from green to blue. A similar problem occurred last month. After the release of an e-book reader named Classics, its UI was completely copied by another application e-book.

In some cases, the copied application is the free version of the copied paid application. For example, the developer of Copter Free wrote in his application Description: "If you like iCopter, you will also like Free Copter ." In another case, the developer copied a free application and made it into a paid version-the price of Medical Calculator was USD 0.99, what it copied was the free and open-source MedCalc, and even the text descriptions of the application completely copied the latter.

A developer named Zen Ho said that Apple's reply to the question was not satisfactory. Apple said, "respecting others' Intellectual Property Rights. Perhaps the only direction they can consider is to terminate the developer account infringing the intellectual property rights of other developers ." The developer asked Apple to remove the copied App from the App Store, but Apple said that the copied App developer Xu had resolved it through legal means.
