Linux OS opens the new era of 3.0 Kernel

Some developers believe that turning to the Linux 3.0 kernel will become a positive turning point, so they can remove some old residues from the kernel, such as the old subsystem and rare drivers. Some people suggest switching to the Linux 3.0 kernel at least after the ARM architecture code is cleaned up, but Linus rejects it because he thinks kernel version changes should not be associated with such milestones.

According to the new version naming rules, after 3.0, the next major version of the Linux kernel will be 3.1, followed by 3.2, and there will be some small stable versions between them, such as 3.0.1 and 3.0.2.
