Microsoft has announced the inclusion of the Eclipse Foundation in the form of "solution members" (Solutions Member) on Eclipsecon. The company will maintain the currently available set of plugins for Eclipse users, and it has announced new tools and services for the integrated development Environment (IDE). According to previous statements, Microsoft's tools for Eclipse users include Azure Toolkit for Eclipse, the Java SDK for Azure, and the team Explorer everywhere plugin.
The tools mentioned above will continue to be maintained and shared through Eclipse marketplace. The highlights of today's announcement are as follows:
? The team Explorer everywhere plugin for Eclipse is open source on GitHub today;
? Eclipse's Kura will be supported by Azure IoT suite, and Microsoft will continue to contribute Azure IoT hub Connector for Kura so users can easily connect to the gateways that run Kura to Azure IoT suite;
? Azure Toolkit for Eclipse will be supported by Azure Java WebApp, where programmers can let Java Web apps run in "Seconds" on azure;
? Azure Java Dev Center to be refreshed and upgraded;
? Announcing the Java Tools Challenge (Java Tool Challenge), participating developers can build applications and extensions for visual Studio Team Services (VSTS).
Microsoft joins Eclipse Foundation: Bringing more tools to the community
