Oracle Database case study-failed to import and export Oracle Data-data dictionary not updated

1.1 symptom description

UseExpAn error occurred while exporting data. The following error message is displayed:

EXP-00008: ORACLE error 942 encountered

ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

EXP-00024: Export views not installed, please sort y your DBA

EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully

1.2 possible causes

After the database is upgraded, the data dictionary is not updated. As a result, the table or view does not exist, causing data export failure.

1.3 Procedure OracleThe user logs on to the database machine. To SysdbaThe user connects to the database.

% Sqlplus/as sysdba

Shut down the database.

SQL> shutdown immediate

Update the data dictionary.

SQL> @/oracle/app/product/11g/db/rdbms/admin/catpatch. SQL;

Restart the database.

SQL> startup migrate

Run the Export command.

Exported successfully. The system displays the following information:

Export terminated successfully without warnings.
