Oracle Database Gateway Installation

In the article "Oracle HS (heterogeneous Services) in-depth analysis and collaborative gateway workflow ", we mainly introduce the principle of HS and how to work with Gateway. Now that we understand the role of Gateway, we need to install and configure it. This article mainly introduces the simple installation configuration process.

1. Double-click the Setup program that runs gateways Setup.exe program

2. Select Install Oracle Database gateways 11.1.0.7.0. Click Next

3. After selecting the installation path and completing the name, click Next.

4. Select the component you want to install: Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC 11.1.0.7.0, click Next

If you are installing Oracle Database Gateway for Microsoft SQL Server 11.1.0.7.0, tick the following:

In the above interface, different gateway components are selected for installation and configuration according to different data sources.

5. Click Install on the next installation screen

If we select Oracle Database Gateway for Microsoft SQL Server 11.1.0.7.0, we also need to configure the following interface before installing the interface:

Fill in the Machine name or IP address, the database instance name, and the database you want to access with the SQL Server installed.

Click Next and click Install. Start installing the appropriate components.

6. When the installation is complete, go to the configuration page

Click Next to get as seen:

Click Next:

Click Finish:

Note: The 6th step above only needs to be configured if we configure Oracle Database gateway for the first time. If you have already configured listener, you will not need to configure an additional listener.

After the installation is complete, if you just installed the gateway for Microsoft SQL Server, you can see a folder called Dg4msql in the root of the gateway, which has the relevant configuration. It is also important to note that these configuration information is the information required for the relevant SQL Server interaction.

in other words, if you want to modify access to MS SQL Server the database, server address and other information, need to modify Oracle_home/dg4msql the configuration file under the file. Because the gateway defaults to this folder to find the configuration information for MS SQL Server
