Oracle released MySQLFabric to simplify the high availability and scalability of MySQL. Beijing, May 28, 2014-Oracle announced the launch of MySQL Fabric to meet current requirements for Web and cloud applications. MySQL Fabric is an integrated system that simplifies the management of MySQL database groups. This product provides high availability through the fault detection and failover functions, and achieves scalability through the automatic data sharding function.

To continuously promote MySQL innovation, Oracle announced that MySQL Fabric was fully available. MySQL Fabric is an open-source framework that can manage MySQL server clusters.

Main functions of MySQL Fabric

When used together with the MySQL replication function for high availability, MySQL Fabric can provide automatic fault detection and failover functions. Including:

Monitor the primary database. if the server fails, MySQL Fabric selects a slave database and upgrades it to the new primary database.

Provides automatic path selection for transaction processing to connect to the current primary database and query load balancing between databases. The topology and server status are transparent to applications.

The automatic data sharding and resharding functions simplify the process management of the development and operation teams. This helps users:

Table sharding for horizontal scaling of read and write;

Select the table shards and specify the partition key fields, including whether to use hash-based ing or range-based ING;

Transfer existing data slices to a new server, or further split the data slices into smaller ones.

The extension support for PHP, Python, and Java connectors enables transaction processing and queries to be directly sent to appropriate MySQL servers. Because no proxy is required, no additional delay will be incurred.
