The following terminology can often be seen in Oracle support, together with learning.
Fixes -Minimal unit maintenance, repair usually resolves a specific problem, such as: Oracle may give you a solution to your production problem.
patches -patches are very similar to fixes, but they almost always have a prerequisite in the documentation that is included in the patch. Patches can be seen as an integration of formal environments that are fixed during Oracle development.
Bundles -Bundles is a patch for a specific application module that is released at a specific release time (typically 4 weeks to 12 weeks). Information about bundles Jiangbei records are in the Maintenance log table for future reference.
Maintenance Packs -A maintenance pack is a bundle between all modules in a specific time period, typically published one or both years.
Service Packs -Services Pack is the full application hairstyle version of all the latest patch codes, sometimes introducing new features in the service pack, but generally bugfix. Service packs are released no more than 1 times per year. This depends on the number of fixes that need to be included.
Other Terms:
Feature Pack -A Feature pack contains all the code in a standard major release, as well as features and updates that were previously delivered in bundles and maintenance packs.
Update ID & Report ID- This is how the patch/fix, package, or maintenance package is provided to customers on the Oracle Support portal.
ICE & Incident & Resolution- These three terms are used internally by Oracle. These terms come from a system called ICE that tracks and solves problems.
Bug- This term is internal to Oracle. Oracle developers are not currently using ice to track and resolve issues.
Defect -A flaw is a term used in applications that Oracle support engineers use to process customer service requests.
POC -POC (proof of concept) is a kind of patch that Oracle provides to customers, and through their understanding, although the patch has been developed and tested, it has not yet completed the rigorous quality assurance testing of all release patches.
one-off-one- off is the development of the provided patches to address performance issues.
