When we use PL/SQL Developer to connect to 11 GB, we find that PL/SQL Developer is slow in response.
There are the following phenomena:
1. When PL/SQL Developer is used to connect to the database, the cpu of the Database Host suddenly increases. After PL/SQL Developer is exited, the cpu returns to normal.
2. The database has a waiting event asynch descriptor resize.
3. Wait for the SQL statement corresponding to the event
To avoid this problem, disable the "Describe context" function.
Tools> Preferences> User Interface> Code Assistant> Describe context
Tools> preferences> User Interface> code assistant> descriptor Relation
By the way, we will introduce how to set PL/SQL Developer language options.

Introduction to the "Describe context" function in the PL/SQL Developer help document
Describe the frontend and backend relationships
Determines whether the code assistant should describe the relationship between the current user, editor, and program unit.
Minimum characters
Determines the number of characters that need to be typed before the description can be automatically called. Note that you can always call the code assistant manually, even if the number of characters is not typed.
Description of Standard Functions
By default, the Code assistant describes standard functions such as to_char and add_months. If you are familiar with these functions, you can disable this option.
