Plug-in installation method for Eclipse Plug-ins

The Eclipse Platform + plug-in approach makes eclipse easy to expand, and Eclipse Plug-ins are installed in two different ways:

One is the built-in way to install, that is, download the plug-in after the decompression, and then extract the contents of the plugins and features directory into the Eclipse installation directory of the Plugins and feature directory, this method of installation is relatively simple, but the problem is more, Because all of the plug-in files are mixed into the plugins and feature directories, Eclipse becomes bloated, and if you don't want to use a plugin, uninstalling can be a hassle.

The second way is to use the plug-in method, the following through the installation of Eclipse3.2 package to illustrate:

1 First download and install Eclipse, I am installed in the/HOME/MYNAME/ECLIPSE32 directory

2 then create a/home/myname/plugins directory where we're going to store all the eclipse plug-ins

3 then create a/home/myname/plugins/nlpack1-eclipse-sdk-3.2 directory, which is where we store the Chinese bag.

4 then download the Eclipse Nlpack1-eclipse-sdk-3.2.zip package, the/home/myname/plugins/ The contents of the nlpack1-eclipse-sdk-3.2 directory are uncompressed, and the extracted content will be in a directory named eclipse

5 Create a/home/myname/eclipse32/links directory, create a new file Nlpack1-eclipse-sdk-3.2.link, the contents of the file only to the line, as follows:

path=/home/myname/plugins/nlpack1-eclipse-sdk-3.2

6 launch Eclipse, Chinese success.

Other plug-ins can also be installed in such a way that the name of the directory and file is recommended to retain the version number of the plugin, so as to facilitate future upgrades and management of Plug-ins.
